Notes on my pieces in reverse order of their addition to this site.
a poem in the voice of dian. the first stanza is based on a fragment of the chaldaic oracles [...], the next six lines on an entheogenic experience watching the 2026 solar eclipse from tempelhofer feld. for the final two lines, compare naugerius’ hymn to the dawn, which describes the god’s cruel hunt.
a love (or rather desire) poem, continuing some of the themes from one of those dolls in a different register. “sight” is the goddess theíā, mother of dawn according to hesiod; see pindar’s fifth isthmian ode with scholia. seeing is “fount of gods” following the latin poem quod cernunt oculi, which begins: “Whatever the eyes see is a god; for it (=seeing?) is the source of gods; [...] the nature which shows itself in the sea says to the eyes [...]”. the older form “dian” of the god’s name is used because it less clearly gendered. the story of “actaeon” can be summarized as follows: [...]
